Martinborough Golf Club lease extension

UPDATE: 6 April 2022

The Council has voted to renew Martinborough Golf Club’s application for a 30-year lease on its present site, which is on recreation reserve land on Todds Road, Martinborough.

This land, once owned by the Martin family, was gifted to a Trust for the purposes of a reserve in 1911 and subsequently vested in Featherston County Council.  The Martinborough Golf Club has been operating on the Reserve since 1948.

The property has an area of 40.939 hectares and is described as Lot 75 on DP579 Certificate of Title WN103/58.

The golf club has a 21 year lease due to expire in October 2023. The proposed new lease is for a term of 30 years starting 1 May 2022, with no right of renewal. The lease will be on terms and conditions substantially corresponding with the terms and conditions of the existing lease with an annual lease fee of $2,500 plus GST subject to three yearly reviews.

Details of the proposal can be found here.
