Simone Baker

Email: baker4greytown@gmail.com
Phone: 027 479 0584

My principal place of residence is in the Greytown General Ward area.
Born and raised in Greytown, I’m proud to still call this place home. I’m standing because I want to ensure our community has strong, local representation and that our voices are truly heard at the Council table.
I’m a teacher by profession and a long-time advocate for community-led solutions. My previous community involvement includes the Greytown Community Board, Papawai Marae Trustee and currently a Kuranui College BOT member. I have held roles across tourism and education and am employed in Tertiary Education.
The current rates situation needs to reflect real value for our communities, and with a solution focused approach I will endeavour to find positive outcomes for fairer investment across South Wairarapa, better transparency around how money is spent, and a focus on getting the basics right, like water, roads and community services.
Let’s build a South Wairarapa that works for all of us.

Collier Isaacs

Phone: 027 444 5412

My principal place of residence is in the Greytown General Ward area.
I’m standing for Council to bring practical leadership grounded in agriculture, business, and the community. A long-time resident of rural Greytown with my wife Belinda Cordwell and family, I combine Te Ātiawa and European heritage with deep local roots and a passion for the environment. Through my executive and governance career I have led major projects with farmers, government, and communities, using facts and collaboration to get results. My priorities include keeping the South Wairarapa vibrant and unique, supporting thriving business, reliable infrastructure, and youth and community initiatives. I back local food and farming businesses, smart water solutions, and planning that protects the rural character without overburdening ratepayers. I am independent, straightforward, and focused on solutions over politics. I believe in listening to locals, working together, and building a resilient, future-ready South Wairarapa. Vote Isaacs for strong towns, connected communities, and progress not politics.

Greytown Community Board (4 vacancies)

The following candidates are standing for the Greytown Community Board. They have been listed in alphabetical order.

Hilary Beaton

Email: Hilary4greytown@gmail.com
Phone: 027 284 1973

My principal place of residence is in the Greytown Community Board area.
Greytown is a small rural district doing great things. My partner and I chose to settle here eight years ago. I currently work as a Pilates instructor and volunteer for the Wairarapa Hospice. Like other residents, we have seen huge expansion and growth across South Wairarapa. Our transition from city to rural living has given us an understanding and empathy for new arrivals as well as the friendship and support of long-term residents.
My background is in community cultural development and non-profit executive management. I have served on numerous advisory boards with limited budgets, responsible for identifying and funding projects. This has given me skills to engage with competing interests, solve complex issues and manage change collaboratively.
If elected, I will support the Community Board to ensure our community continues to grow stronger while preserving the qualities we all cherish about living here.

Louise Brown

Phone: 027 253 5732

My principal place of residence is in the Greytown Community Board area.
I am seeking re-election for the Greytown Community Board (GCB). Last term, I was Chair and I believe we were active in working for the community. The GCB was able to help community groups, clubs and organisations through our Volunteer Expo; In the Long-Term Plan, successfully expand the Arbor Reserve; Increase the public knowledge that Greytown was the first town in New Zealand to hold Arbor Day; and continue to build a strong relationship with Papawai through Arbor Day and Matariki. I believe I put in the work last term to truly learn and understand how best to reach and respond to the community and if elected will build on that knowledge. One of my strengths is my legal background and the ability to recognise there is more than one side and it is important to hear all sides before making decisions that best represent the interests of our community.

Diane MacKenzie

Phone: 027 261 0394

My principal place of residence is in the Greytown Community Board area.
I was born in Greytown and grew up on our family farm on Fabian’s Road and went to Kuranui College. My family name was Olliver. I was married in Carterton to Donald MacKenzie (from Scotland) who I met overseas. Initially we lived in Tokoroa where our children were born, then moved to Auckland. For my last 20 years there, I managed the financial services department of a large NZ corporate. Two years ago we returned to Greytown to retire. I love being back living in our beautiful village and enjoy the community interaction. I’m volunteer and Director of The Social Crust (which runs Greytown Foodbank) and also Treasurer of the South Wairarapa Rotary Club. Coming home for retirement has inspired me to become immersed in community affairs and I have a passion to become involved with the Greytown Community Board to ensure that our community interests are looked after.

Neil Morison

Email: nwmorison@gmail.com
Phone: 027 254 9751

Independent
My principal place of residence is in the Greytown Community Board area.
I live on a farm that boundaries the Ruamahanga river. I, and our two children, did all our schooling in Greytown. I have been involved with many local clubs and groups and have built up many contacts that will be important in helping me serve our community.
I would like to see our community board supporting business innovation. I would also like to see it support the maintenance of our town’s heritage and the growth of sporting and cultural opportunities for our families and the children of our community’s future, whilst not forgetting those who are struggling to live comfortably in our beautiful area.
Having just completed a term on the community board, if reelected I can hit the ground running addressing our community issues. If elected I look forward to working with the rest of the board representing our Greytown community.

Jolene Woodcock

Email: woodcock4@xtra.co.nz
Phone: 021 490 600

My principal place of residence is in the Greytown Community Board area.
It’s been a privilege to serve on the Greytown Community Board over the past three years.
Raised in Greytown, I’m a teacher with 25+ years’ experience, have two teenage boys, and I’m actively involved in animal welfare and community advocacy.
This term, we re-established the Volunteer Expo, Arbor Day celebrations, and the Stakeholder Meeting for Parks and Reserves, launched a Matariki event, and supported the Santa Parade.
As a private citizen, I supported rural ratepayers by assisting thirteen submitters and submitting on community engagement for the Moroa Road solar power plant in the Environment Court, as well as submitting on the Greytown bore project.
If elected, I look forward to being part of the team developing the Arbour Reserve, continuing to grow local events, advocating for residents, and writing submissions that reflect Greytown’s voice.
I’m approachable, hardworking, and not afraid to ask tough questions.
Let’s keep Greytown thriving.
