Casual Staff – Wairarapa Library Service – The Wairarapa Library Service, a shared service of South Wairarapa and Carterton District Councils, is on the lookout for people who wish to work on a casual basis.

Welcoming Communities Coordinator – Welcoming Communities – Te Waharoa ki ngā Hapori is a settlement programme that supports Councils and their communities to create welcoming and inclusive environments for newcomers – recent migrants, former refugees and international students. The programme also supports New Zealanders returning home or moving from other parts of the country. It involves local residents in developing, delivering and participating in welcoming activities.

Ranger – we are looking for a part time Ranger who will safeguard our communities through assisting with providing an effective animal control service as well as undertaking monitoring work of our Council reserves. This role includes after-hours and weekend role, where the successful candidate works the equivalent of two (2) weekends per month

Corridor Access Engineer – A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Corridor Access Engineer to become part of a Roading team which is part of working relationship between South Wairarapa District Council, Carterton District Council, and Fulton Hogan. As the Corridor Access Engineer you will manage the construction, improvement, and preservation of roading infrastructure and ensure all works meet all current Health and Safety requirements, through best practices and in a way that is efficient and effective.

Community Development Coordinator – Mayors Task Force for Jobs – is a nationwide network of New Zealand’s Mayors, working together towards the vision of all young people under 25 being engaged in appropriate education, training, work or other positive activity in their communities. We require exceptional and proven relationship building skills, as you will be working in partnership with employers, residents, community groups, agencies, community boards and council across the South Wairarapa to develop, coordinate and provide a wide range of initiatives, programmes, services and/or policies that enhance community wellbeing and aspirations.

Climate Change Advisor – The South Wairarapa and Carterton District Councils are working together to play a leadership role in responding to climate change.  We are seeking a dynamic leader and facilitator to help us make sustainable, transformative change in the way we deliver our operations and services, and support community adaptation and mitigation initiatives.
