Chris Archer
Email: chris@joiy.co.nz
Phone: 027 816 1800
My principal place of residence is in the Martinborough General Ward area.
I first moved to Martinborough in 2005, drawn by its exceptional wines and vibrant community. With over 35 years in agriculture and winemaking, I have built vineyards, led wine businesses small and large. Foundered the brand Joiy which has led the way in sustainable packaging, becoming New Zealand’s top canned wine brand.
Martinborough means a great deal to me. If elected, I will focus on practical solutions for infrastructure, fair and future-focused rates, and preserving South Wairarapa’s unique identity. Reliable infrastructure, better transport links, prudent and transparent financial management are top priorities.
I am a problem-solver, not an ideologue. I listen first, act decisively, and tackle challenges head-on—whether it is developing air connections, improving water systems, or creating recreational bike trails. Anything to build the rich fabric of the South Wairarapa region and be the envy of other regions.
Let us build a stronger, resilient Wairarapa—together.

Prioritising Infrastructure & Roading
My principal place of residence is in the Martinborough General Ward area.
I am passionate about the future of South Wairarapa. I was born in Greytown and have lived in Martinborough since 2001.
Since being elected to the Martinborough Community Board in 2019 and then as a Councillor in 2022 I have demonstrated the ability to listen to community concerns and take action on them within Council.
I proactively advocate for all residents. I am approachable, but not afraid to speak up to ask the hard questions and look to solve local issues with local solutions.
As Chair of the Infrastructure Committee, water reform and roading priorities are a critical focus while still maintaining a reasonable rate base and growing our community. I have demonstrated my ability to advocate strongly in these areas.
I will continue to provide a strong voice for both rural and urban Martinborough residents/ratepayers for these upcoming matters and would welcome the opportunity to be your representative again.

I am a fulltime resident of Martinborough, having been so for the past seven years. My wife and I made decision to build a home here, we were based in Canberra at the time, because it’s a great place to live and close to many friends and family.
Having spent the last three years on the Martinborough Community Board, I believe I understand the desires of this community and feel I can do more by serving at the Council table
I am committed to ensuring affordable rates, fostering businesses to develop and prosper and to be resilient as a community.
Council need to hear the voices of our communities and be inclusive and engaging and to work with them in a way that benefits all.
My plan is to create options and collaborate with Councillors and staff to deliver appropriate methods for this to happen.

Experienced Decision Maker
My principal place of residence is in the Martinborough General Ward area.
Our community needs a Council that’s upfront, effective, and focused on what matters most to people. I recently retired from the public service where I held senior roles including as a Deputy Chief Executive with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. I’m an experienced decision maker, have managed big budgets and worked to support those people driving our economy and creating jobs – especially our farmers and businesses. I can navigate complex issues and ask the tough questions to ensure we prioritise and live within our means. We need to get the basics right. Martinborough is my home – I care deeply about this community and its future. I bring practical experience, fresh ideas, and a strong voice to the table so we can build a Council that works better for everyone.

Hi, I’m Ross. For about nine years, I have lived on a lifestyle block near Martinborough with Michelle and our family. After 18 years in the Police across the Wairarapa, Rangitikei and Manawatu, Marty has truly become my home.
Michelle and I have operated an accommodation business and now manage Patuna Chasm, we support local small businesses and value their input into the community.
I value personal property rights and believe in landowners’ freedom without unnecessary oversight.
If elected, I’ll advocate strongly for the Martinborough ward with a rural and village slant and speak up to be heard on council issues, and ensure your concerns are heard.
I’m here to listen and communicate openly at the Community Board on your behalf.

Nana Boyle
Email: annechristine.boyle@gmail.com
Phone: 021 062 6293
My principal place of residence is in the Martinborough Community Board area.
My name is Anne-Christine Boyle, though many of you know me as Nana. I’ve lived in New Zealand Aotearoa for over 20 years, and Martinborough has been home for the past eight. My husband and I moved here from Wellington to raise our three children in the village we love.
We run a small local business – Le Coiffeur Hair Boutique on Jellicoe Street – and have two children at Martinborough School and one at Martinborough Kindy. Over the years, I’ve been inspired by the generosity, warmth, and solidarity that define our community.
Now that our children are a little older, and although I remain committed to them, I’d love to give back. I care deeply about people, local life, culture, and inclusion.
I’m passionate about supporting all generations, backing local business, and promoting sustainability. I’ll listen with care and represent your voice. Let’s keep Martinborough strong, connected, and thriving.

Phone: 027 444 6648
My principal place of residence is in the Martinborough Community Board area.
I have been a resident in Martinborough since 1996 and have been active in the community for many years.
Together with my wife we built and ran a winery and cellar door and homestays.
I have worked in service areas for most of my career including early intervention, primary, secondary and tertiary education.
I am particularly interested in the opportunity that the Council now has to manage waste water discharges and clean up the rivers that flow in to Lake Wairarapa. I also think Martinborough should implement a safe cycle system for young people, tourists and the community as a whole.
I recognize that the Martinborough Community Board is here to listen and advocate on behalf of its community. I have the skills to do this and would be pleased to offer my services in carrying out this task.

Tēnā koutou katoa
I am 5th generation Martinborough and I am raising my two 6th generation boys here. I bring proven long term, sustainable thinking to decision making in this role.
If elected this will be my 3rd triennium having the privilege of representing your local Martinborough voice on the Board, sharing what is important to you and making sure investment is ongoing into our Martinborough ward from the South Wairarapa District Council.
From coast to rural, rural to town, having been raised in the lower valley at Grey Cliffs Ruakokopātuna, then Wairua at Dyerville, and now living in town, I have a thorough understanding of the nature of work that this job entails and the vast area that its responsibilities cover.
It would be my honour to serve you again for another three years.
