Free e-waste disposal days this month

If you’re anything like most New Zealanders, you probably have a little – or a lot – of e-waste that you don’t want and don’t know what to do about.

This month is our collective chance to say goodbye to it – for free at the three recycling stations in South Wairarapa, which has two open days on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October for the community to dispose of e-waste.

This includes phones, laptops, chargers, televisions, computer screens and anything that falls into the category of electronic waste that is no longer wanted. The two days are a chance to make a positive difference by keeping harmful materials out of landfills to support a cleaner, greener future.

If you’re dropping off e-waste, please make sure that the items you drop off are not stripped prior to disposal.

New Zealanders generate approximately 98,000 tonnes of e-waste every year, only two per cent of which is currently recycled – these two days are a chance to be part of a positive change.

Dispose of e-waste for free at Martinborough, Featherston and Greytown recycling stations on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 October for free ‘e’ drop offs.
