Voting for this year’s local body elections is open.
How to vote
If you are enrolled to vote, you should have received your voting papers in the post. Voting papers need to be returned via post by 12 noon on Saturday 8 October.
Post your voting papers via any New Zealand post box by 4 October to ensure they are received before the cut-off date.
Forgot to post?
If you missed posting your voting papers by 4 October, you can drop them in to the South Wairarapa District Council office at 19 Kitchener Street Martinborough or any South Wairarapa library before 12 noon on Saturday 8 October.
The Council office in Martinborough will be open from 9am to 12 noon on Saturday 8 October.
Didn’t receive voting papers?
If you haven’t received your voting papers, you may not be enrolled or you may need to update your address. You can check your details and enrol before Friday 7 October via the Electoral Commission website or contact the electoral officer on 0800 666 048.
Enrolled after Friday 12 August?
If you enrol or update your address after midnight 12 August 2022, you won’t get your voting papers sent to you in the mail. You will need to pick up special voting papers from the South Wairarapa District Council office at 19 Kitchener Street, Martinborough.
