Jellicoe Street Martinborough closure Monday 12 to Tuesday 13 November

There will be a two day road closure on Jellicoe Street between Memorial Square and Naples Street, Martinborough, for resealing work from Tuesday 12 November to Wednesday 13 November from 7am to 6pm both days.

Residents and businesses have been informed with a letter drop and the traffic management diagram is attached to this notice for reference.

Roadmarking and surface cover raising will take place on Jellicoe Street in Martinborough between Memorial Square and Naples Street on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 November from 7am to 6pm.

The council has contracted Fulton Hogan to do this asphalting work followed by service cover raising and road marking.

In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the work will be postponed until the next suitable day.

Parking

Please ensure that vehicles are not parked on the street during the work time frame. If cars are parked on the street during this time, they may have to be towed. If the towing operator is not able to return cars to where they were found, they are required to leave it in the nearest available park. If a car is missing, please check nearby streets before calling the contractor named below.

Safety

Please ensure that children are warned of the dangers posed by road works. Ensure that they know they need to stand well back from the work and that they follow guidelines given by the workers. It is also recommended to keep pets indoors while work is in progress.

Noise and dirt

Roadwork can be noisy and dirty. The contracted workers will be do their best to minimise the impact on households and businesses.

The cooperation and patience of the community will allow the contractors to get the job done as swiftly as possible.

Surfaces following repair work

Bitumen, concrete and other road repair materials require a little tender loving care after they are applied. Please treat all new surfaces with extra care for the two weeks following the
completion of this project. Avoid excessive speed, sharp turns and heavy braking.

All new roadwork is routinely monitored and in some cases workers may need to return to the site to sweep and repaint road markings. If additional work is needed, the community will be notified.
