We’re on the lookout for people with experience in the arts to join our Creative Communities assessment panel.

Each year the Creative Communities Scheme (CCS) provides funding to local and district councils across the country to distribute in their area. We are looking for people with experience in the arts and a good understanding of what’s happening in the arts locally to help allocate this funding.
So, what’s involved in being on the CCS panel?
You’ll help assess applications for funding from artistic individuals and community groups and will need to attend assessment meetings twice a year.
If you or someone you know would be a great addition to this panel, apply by submitting an application form which can be found on our website: swdc.govt.nz/community/grants/
To give you an idea of what’s funded through this scheme, here’s a list of the groups and projects that were funded at the last CCS panel meeting (17 September 2025), with a total of $15,890 allocated.
