The White Rock Road and Lake Ferry intersection are to have road sealing and marking work done on Sunday 18 May between 8.30am and 6pm.
We are asking everyone in the community to please keep children away from the roadworks, pets indoors for the duration and make sure vehicles are not parked on the street during the hours of work.
Roadwork is a noisy, dirty business but please bear with us. We are doing all we can to minimise the impact on households and businesses and to improve the roads for our community.
We appreciate your help and patience, both of which will enable us get the job done as quickly as possible.
Bitumen, concrete and other road repair materials require a bit of tender loving care after they are applied. Please treat all new surfaces with extra care for the two weeks following the completion of this project. Avoid excessive speed, sharp turns and heavy braking.
All new roadworks are routinely monitored and, in some cases, workers may need to return to the site for additional clean up work, such as sweeping and repainting road markings. You will receive another notice like this one if further work is required.
In the event of bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the work will be postponed until the next suitable day.
South Wairarapa District Council has contracted Fulton Hogan Ltd to complete this work.
Please note
If cars are parked on the road at those times, they may unfortunately need to be towed to allow the work to proceed. If the towing operator is unable to return your car to where it was found, they will need to leave it in the nearest available park. If your car is missing, please check the nearby streets before calling the contractors (Fulton Hogan) working on this project
