This week, several of the pedestrian crossings in Martinborough’s Memorial Square will receive some interim upgrades. Keep an eye out as Fulton Hogan install permanent signs and some temporary warning lights to help address safety concerns, particularly in poor weather.
This is ahead of Councils work to permanently upgrade lighting and signage across South Wairarapa’s pedestrian crossings, which will form part of Councils roading services work programme between 2024-27. The upgrades will address non-compliant crossings throughout the District to ensure the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles. These works will be undertaken in a staged manner across the three wards, beginning in Martinborough.
