Waka Kotahi will be resealing parts of State Highway 53 between Featherston and Martinborough starting Monday 14 November to Thursday 17 November.

These are the areas that will be resealed:

• Near Camp Road
• Near Phillips Line
• On the Straight, west of Martinborough

Road surface improvements are also planned at Murphy’s Line in the near future.

These road surface improvements are highly dependent on the weather and will be postponed if there is forecast rain or if temperatures are too high or too low.

New chipseal settles over a few months to a smoother surface than first laid.

Traffic will be managed with stop/go traffic control during the work and a temporary speed limit will be in place to settle the seal up to 2 days and nights after.
