Road closure notice, Cruise Martinborough, January 2026

This is a formal application for a road closure in Martinborough on Saturday 24 January 2026 from 10am to 4pm on behalf of the Event Organiser of Cruise Martinborough from A&K Traffic Solutions.

The cars will start their parade at Wairarapa Tow and Salvage Yard in Daniel Street, Featherston, driving to Martinborough Square where they will park for people to view the cars.

Road closures

Martinborough Square and all intersecting roads will be closed from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 24 January with event cars arriving after the road closure and departing before the road opens again.

Other road information

Kitchener Street/ State Highway 53 (SH53) in Martinborough will be partially closed between Ohio Street and the Square. There will be no entry past Ohio Street and the SH53 intersection to the Square intersection. There will be an exit only between Ohio Street and the Square.

Detour

A detour will be in place from Kitchener Street for motorists driving into Martinborough to turn right onto Ohio Street and left onto Naples Street, then right onto Jellicoe Street, which leads south out of Martinborough.

Event details

Cruise Martinborough is a hot rod, classic and muscle car show event, showcasing vehicles from the 1970s, 1960s, 1950s and prior. This event in Greytown is a vehicle parade for people to see all the vehicles from the Cruise Martinborough events. Cars will travel in Greytown and then they will park in the carpark at Greytown Workingmen’s Club to show off cars to the public.

If this event is cancelled, it will not proceed as there is no postponement date set for it.
