Martinborough road closure Saturday 1 November


Round the Vines has been called the biggest fundraiser for a small school in New Zealand and it takes place this year on Saturday 1 November.

This application is for a road closure during the event and is being made by Traffex Ltd, the contractor for Round the Vines.

The event includes two courses, a 10km course and a 21km course, both of which start in Martinborough Square. The courses crosses several vineyards in Martinborough before finishing back at the Square. The first run begins at 8.30am and the last leaves at 10.15am. Traffic management is required at several closure points for the safety of the participants and public.

Road closures applied for are:

Memorial Square between Cambridge Road & Oxford Street, 8am to 1pm

Cambridge Road (one way closure) between Memorial Square & Puruatanga/Huangarua Road, 8am to 1pm

Martins Road between Runholder winery (also known as Te Kairanga) and Todds Road, 8am to 1pm

Cologne Street, Cambridge Road intersection, 8am to 1pm

Strasbourge Street, Cambridge Road intersection, 8am to 1pm

The Round the Vines event is supported by local residents and businesses with sponsors enabling it to proceed each year.
