Martinborough Library turns 130

Martinborough Library celebrates 130 years this Friday 18 October and it all started in the building pictured below. Now known as Martinborough Museum, this building was opened as a library in October 1894 by John Martin. It was designed in the style of a club house by an architect known as Mr Natusch, who was credited with its design in the Martinborough Star on 20 October 1894. The library was reported to be well stocked with books and periodicals when first opened.
