Community Boards give funds to art, foodbank, emergency hub and more 

Greytown and Martinborough Community Boards have put their funding where their communities most need it with their latest grants going to everything from age concern, animal welfare and an art trail to musical therapy, a junior rugby festival and preserving history at a local museum.  

These boards represent two of the three community boards in the district. Featherston Community Board’s latest funding round still currently open. The Māori Partnership Committee funding round is also open now.

Greytown Art Gallery – Wairarapa Art Trail $683 

Greytown Football Club – installation of digital lock system at the pavilion $3,800 

Greytown School – swimming caps for South Wairarapa Swim Champs, $1,350 

SPCA Masterton – microchipping and registering animals, $1,000

Age Concern Wairarapa – social connection services, $1,639 

Digital Seniors – ongoing support for residents, $1,000 

Martinborough Jazz – Swingtime in Spring, $750 

Martinborough JAB Rugby – Junior Rugby Festival, $690 

Martinborough Men’s Shed – shipping container for storage, $2,500 

Martinborough Museum Trust – historic card displays, $1,000 

Martinborough School – one term of musical therapy, $975 

Martinborough Squash and Rackets Club – roof repair and repainting, $1,500 

Masterton SPCA – microchipping, $1,000 

Ruakokopatuna Settlers’ Association – emergency hub heaters, $1,200 

Social Crust – operational costs, $7,500 

Funding rounds

Allocations of funds are made twice yearly. Individuals and groups alike are invited to apply. The next funding rounds for Greytown and Martinborough community boards open on 10 August 2026 and close on 20 September 2026. Decisions will be made in mid October.
