Last night, Council met for a final time to review and discuss the submissions and evidence for and against its Greytown Sports and Recreation proposal, as part of Annual Plan deliberations.
The meeting was held in the Waihinga Centre Supper Room, in Martinborough, and was well attended by members of the community. All councillors and the Mayor Alex Beijen were present, and the Council Chief Executive, Harry Wilson, and officers were on hand to provide advice.
Councillors deliberated on the three separate parts of the proposal in turn – buying the Rugby Club land, buying the Bowling Club land and contributing towards a full-size replacement gym for Kuranui College and the wider community.
The draft resolutions will be voted on and the Annual Plan approved at the Council meeting on 30 June 2020.
