If you have ever wondered how to find funding opportunities to bring a community project to life, or build a sustainable funding model for your organisation, here’s a chance to do a deep dive at a free Community Funding Workshop in Greytown on Thursday 6 November from 10am to 3pm.
“We are acutely aware that funding is in short supply and rising cost of living pressures make it even harder to make new projects happen. This workshop will share tips on how to find funds from a wide range of sources and offer groups and organisations practical guidance on how to put their best foot forward,” says Lina McManus, Council Advisor for Grants and Funding.
The workshop will run as two sessions in the morning and afternoon. Each session will be facilitated by the two key funders in South Wairarapa – Neomal Attapattu from the Eastern & Central Community Trust (ECCT) and Lina McManus from South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC).
Morning session 10am to 12 noon – hosted by Neomal Attapattu, ECCT
• How to write a winning grants application
• What and how ECCT funds projects in South Wairarapa
• Overview of ECCT’s funding priorities, eligibility and application process
• Capability building – understanding not for profit financials.
Afternoon session 1pm to 3pm – hosted by Lina McManus, SWDC
• What and how SWDC funds projects in South Wairarapa
• Funding focus – Diversifying your funding portfolio, beyond grants – exploring sponsorships, crowdfunding and other revenue streams.
• Capability building – Good governance, local challenges, opportunities and insights. Is your organisation’s structure right or do you need to re-register as an incorporated society?
