South Wairarapa District Council has moved to a new online building consent application and processing system from today (27th September).
The new system, Objective Build, is the next generation of regulatory software and has replaced the current Simpli system.
Objective Build has been designed in consultation with hundreds of architects, designers, builders, and industry professionals across New Zealand specifically to improve your experience with our team.
All consents in the Simpli system for which Code Compliance Certificates have yet to be issued will be automatically transferred to Objective Build, and customers will receive an email from Objective Build with instructions on what to do.
You can apply online for a new building consent through the Objective Build portal.
You can also apply via email to building@swdc.govt.nz or hardcopy posted to PO Box 6, Martinborough 5741.
If you want to apply for the building consent yourself you will need to know how to comply with the Building Act 2004, Building Regulations and the Building Code, all of which are essential for safe and healthy buildings in New Zealand.
If you are not familiar with building plans and compliance with the building code you may need to engage a design professional (an architect for example) to supply the required drawings and information and to apply for a building consent on your behalf.
