All key roads are open including Cape Palliser Rd, but please take care. Cape Palliser is single lane in places. Raho Ruru Rd is closed but should be passable this afternoon.

2.30pm update: Admiral Road is cleared and Moiki Rd is open. SH53 near Wards Line has traffic control while Waka Kotahi deals with a slip.
1pm update: Cape Palliser Road is now closed from the DOC station, due to high swells.
11am update: Lake Ferry Road, between White Rock Road and Kahutara Road, is closed due to flooding. Admiral Rd, the only access road for Hinekura residents at present, is blocked at present while trees are cleared.
Due to high swells, Cape Palliser Rd is likely to close before lunch today. Residents are advised that if they want to go home tonight, they should return as soon as possible.
Our roading team has been out since early morning. Moiki Road (off Bidwills Cutting) and Haurangi Road (off Ruakōkoputuna Road) are also closed due to slips. The roading crews are on their way. There are also reports of some surface flooding on Western Lake Rd.
Snow is also likely on the hills after lunch. All residents are advised to travel with caution.
