Wellington Water are replacing an existing hydrant on the water supply network. Water supply will be shutdown temporarily. The shutdown will affect properties 18 – 37 Princess Street, and all of New York Street West Martinborough.
Expected Shutdown Time: 10:30am – 12:30pm on Wednesday 9 June 2021
The water will be back on as soon as possible, but they recommend you fill up some containers with water before shutdown and avoid running your dishwasher, washing machine or any appliances that use water. It’s best not to use water from your hot water cylinder either as the cylinder may get damaged if the water level gets too low.
When the water supply is turned back on, it is advised that you open a cold tap slowly then let it run for a minute or so to clear any air bubbles that may have entered the system. Air can cause the water to turn a milky colour. This won’t affect the taste or quality of water and should clear quickly.
