Dog licence fees forms are on the way

South Wairarapa dog owners! It’s that time of the year again when we ask you to register your dog before 31 July.

Registering and microchipping your dog is a simple way for Council to identify your dog as yours, and allows us to easily reunite a dog with its owner if it goes missing.

Forms will be sent out this week and early next week via email or the post. If you haven’t received one, please let us know.

Fees can be paid either in person at the Martinborough Council offices, at the Greytown and Featherston libraries, or online. To pay online, please take the dog owner number on your form and go to www.swdc.govt.nz/pay-for-dog-licensing

After keeping the fees flat last year, we unfortunately have to raise them slightly this year to recognise increased costs.

Dog registration fees help pay for our animal services including a 24-hour service to respond to reports of dog attacks, roaming dogs, animal welfare concerns and maintaining pound facilities and care for impounded dogs.
