Why should we care about our Long-Term Plan 2025/34 and Local Water Done Well?
Good question.
Our Local Water Done Well (LWDW) consultation is the biggest decision in decades and will affect our community for generations to come. It is important that our community understands the decisions ahead, what they will mean and provides feedback.
Our Long-Term Plan (LTP) 2025/34 asks our community to provide feedback on how we distribute rates, our investment for roads and water in the years ahead.
We want to hear from our community on three key areas:
- Alternate ways to distribute rates
- Operating our water network
- Prioritising our roading spend
We also want to hear your thoughts on what our priorities should be, which services and projects matter the most to you and how best to fund them.
You can calculate what your own rates will be for the 2025/26 year on our website here: Rates Estimator 2025/26 – SWDC and doing so will help to inform your decision making process.
Please have your say now on the big decisions in the LWDW and the LTP. - There are 10 days left to have your say and we want to hear from you
- Both consultations close on Sunday 6 April 2025
Please give us your feedback by Sunday 6 April now by visiting https://haveyoursay.swdc.govt.nz/
You can also pick up a paper submission from one of the libraries or South Wairarapa District council offices at 19 Kitchener Street in Martinborough.
