Request to join the ‘No Spray’ Register

South Wairarapa District Council undertakes vegetation control spraying in both rural and urban areas.

The programme is designed to maintain road safety by keeping traffic signs visible, controlling roadside vegetation, and maintaining drainage and water tables. Property owners can choose to opt in to the ‘No Spray’ Register and instead maintain roadside areas themselves.

Please note, there is an initial cost when applying for a rural exemption. Rural roadside spraying is carried out twice annually, in autumn and spring, by Council contractors.

If you are already on the rural ‘No Spray’ Register, please remember to check that your roadside ‘No Spray’ markers are out and clearly visible to our contractors from the road. We appreciate your help in ensuring your property is clearly identifiable as a ‘No Spray’ zone.
