Due to severe weather, access along Cape Palliser Road is closed from the DOC Station/Hurupi Stream. The conditions this afternoon and evening mean that the road will need to remain closed overnight. It will be reassessed after high tide at approximately 9am tomorrow morning, Friday 2 May.

We are working with Fulton Hogan on clearing debris and will keep you informed as soon we know the road has been cleared and is safe to use.

Please do not to attempt to use the road – logs and aggregate are being thrown up in waves that are breaking on the road. It’s too dangerous to navigate and should not be attempted.
