Tree trimming will be done under the supervision of a certified arborist in Greytown on Thursday 10 April in Humphris Street, West Street and North Street.
The tree trimming work is in preparation for the upcoming road rehabilitation project on State Highway 2 (SH2) on Main Street later this month, with full information here.
Work on the notable trees is within district plan guidelines and is being carried out for the safe passage of people and vehicles along the detour route while the road rehabilitation work is underway. The road works begin on Monday 28 April and are scheduled to take two weeks from that date with a 24/7 northbound detour in place. Traffic will be detoured via Humphris Street, West Street and North Street while the road works are underway.
The tree trimming work will be conducted by Fulton Hogan under the supervision of a certified arborist who has extensive knowledge of the notable trees on West Street, as pictured below.
