Wellington Water is installing a new chlorine analyser on the outlet of the Pirinoa Water Treatment Plant to monitor chlorine levels and to ensure it continues to deliver safe drinking water.
To install the analyser, there will be a shutdown of the Water Treatment Plant down for approxiamately four hours on 13 December. Wellington Water will provide bottled water to the town and a water tanker to the school while the plant is shut down.
The work will be carried out by the water engineering consultancy Lutra and will commence at 1pm.
This is important work that is part of larger plans to improve Wellington Water’s drinking water resilience in South Wairarapa.
