Plan ahead for five OVERNIGHT CLOSURES starting from Sunday 4 September, 9pm-4am each night for essential maintenance and slip prevention works.
Access will be available for emergency services responding to emergency events throughout the closure. Due to the amount of work taking place, crossings over Remutaka Hill will not be available unless a traveller has special circumstances and has made a booking. Travellers with special circumstances should contact customer@wta.nzta.govt.nz
Numbers are strictly limited. Travellers turning up without bookings will be turned away.
These overnight closures allow us to significantly reduce the number of daytime disruptions on the road, enable better quality of work and improve the safety of road users.
