The Council will hold a workshop on July 11, 6pm, at Martinborough Town Hall to consider its submission on the first of the Three Waters reform bills.
The Water Services Entities Bill is currently before Parliament’s Finance and Expenditure committee and the public can make submissions until July 22. The bill would establish four water entities which would take over the water assets currently run by local authorities. The assets would remain in Council ownership via proportional shareholdings.
Monday’s workshop will consider South Wairarapa District Council’s approach to a submission and key issues for the district around water reform. It will be open to the public but not for public participation. It can also be viewed on our YouTube channel
