Foul weather has affected many roads in the Wairarapa – please drive with caution or delay your trip if possible. This may not be a complete list of roading issues, as situations can develop quickly. Waihenga bridge, Featherston to Martinborough on SH53 is CLOSED
Cape Palliser Road is CLOSED At Te Mahi Cres (WhataRangi). There is a crew on site.
Pahautea Road is CLOSED due to flooding at Hikinui Intersection
Pukio West Road is CLOSED due to flooding at Kahutara Rd
Haurangi No2 Road is OPEN

Kaiwhata Road is CLOSED at Stansborough due to flooding and will remain CLOSED until further notice
Admarial Hill Road is OPEN but drive with caution due to slippery surface

South Wairarapa District Council
Cape Palliser Road is closed at the 17km location due to culvert washout. This is just past Te Miha Crescent in Whatarangi Settlement. The road will be assessed tomorrow morning and an attempt to install a temporary culvert will be carried out, subject to water levels dropping.
Cape River Road before the 2nd bridge, about 4km in from White Rock Road, is also closed. We will update this information as we hear more. Take care and drive safely.

Waihenga bridge on SH53 CLOSED
