COVID-19 Level 3 – Guide to Council services

If you have questions about what’s open and what’s not during Level 3, you’ve come to the right place.

The essential services to continue as normal are:

  • provision of drinking water
  • wastewater treatment and disposal
  • kerbside rubbish and recycling collectionas scheduled
  • Martinborough Transfer Station – extended hours w/c 27 April, returning to normal hours after that
  • Featherston and Greytown Recycling Centres, for bothrecycling and greenwaste- extended hours w/c 27 April, returning to normal hours after that
  • control of dangerous and menacing dogs
  • essential roading services
  • burials
  • paymentsby internet banking
  • building and resource consents and LIMs arebeing processed
  • mowing of parks, sports fields and berms will resume.

Non-essential services to be closed are:​

  • public toilets will remain closed until further notice (from 29 April, one public toilet in each town will be open for essential service workers only)
  • public parks and sports fields are open but physical distancing must be adhered to
  • public playgrounds and water fountains remain closed
  • Council offices remain closed
  • libraries and community halls remain closed.
