The Featherston Community Board warmly invites you to attend an upcoming Community Emergency Management Workshop, focused on strengthening our local preparedness and resilience.
- Date: Sunday 7 June
- Time: 2pm-4pm
- Venue: ANZAC Hall, Corner of Bell Street and Birdwood Street, Featherston
Emergency events can impact our communities in different ways, and in Featherston, we know we will need to look after each other while emergency services triage the most urgent needs in Wairarapa. Building local capability and confidence is essential so that communities are well-positioned to support one another in the critical early stages of an emergency.
This workshop provides an opportunity for residents, community groups, and local organisations to:
- Learn more about emergency preparedness and planning
- Build connections with neighbours and local support networks
- Share knowledge, experiences, and practical ideas
- Understand how we can collectively strengthen community resilience
Preparedness is not just about responding to emergencies, it’s about fostering a culture of care, connection, and collective responsibility. When communities are informed, connected, and proactive, they are better able to respond, recover, and support one another through challenging events.
We strongly encourage local leaders, volunteers, and residents to attend and be part of this important conversation.
