South Wairarapa’s East West Access Road will be closed between the bridge and Te Hopi Road (illustrated below) between 8am and 5pm on Sunday 15 November 2026 for an annual motorcycle sprint event.

Cliffhanger Promotions will be carrying out the annual motorcycle sprint event, which has been approved by South Wairarapa District Council to take place on East West Access Road.

These dates include an extreme contingency plan to take place, if required, for the one-day event. The exact date will be confirmed to residents and the council five days prior to the scheduled event date.

Traffic management will be in place during the road closure.

Residents’ access

Residents will be able to access the road between sprints, which will take place approximately every 40 minutes.
