Greytown water supply interruption notice

Water pipes in Greytown will be temporarily turned off on Thursday 27 March at approximately 9am to the following properties:

20 McMaster Street
73 to 85 Reading Street
Greytown Orchards Lifestyle Retirement Village

The water supply is anticipated to be interrupted for approximately three hours and will be switched back on as soon as possible after the work is done.

Contractors Pope & Gray recommend filling up containers with water in advance and also advise not to take water from the hot water cylinder while the water is turned off, in case the water levels get too low and cause damage to the cylinder.

Once the water is turned back on, it is recommended to slowly turn the tap on and let it run for a minute to clear any air bubbles. These air bubbles can cause the water to appear cloudy but the water remains safe to drink and the cloudiness will not affect the taste. The colour should clear quickly.

If you have any questions about this work, please get in touch with Sid Taylor at Pope and Gray Contractors, phone 027 255 1948.

For after hours enquiries, please contact South Wairarapa District Council, Customer Service, 06 306 9611.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.
