Under Section 119 of the Reserves Act 1977 South Wairarapa District Council proposes to grant a new lease to the Martinborough Squash Rackets Club Incorporated, of part of the recreation reserve land located on Todds Road, Martinborough currently occupied and used by the Martinborough Squash Rackets Club and the Martinborough Golf Club.
The proposed lease area, which is surrounded by the Martinborough Golf Course, is part of the recreation reserve legally described as Lot 75 Deposited Plan 579, record of title WN103/58. The lease proposes an exclusive area of approximately 500m2 (the footprint of the Martinborough Squash Rackets Club building that the Club own) and a non-exclusive access and parking area of approximately 0.5 hectares, shared with the Martinborough Golf Club.
The proposed lease is for a term of 30 years starting 1 September 2026 with no right of renewal. The proposed lease will be on terms and conditions substantially corresponding with the terms and conditions of the existing license arrangement with an annual lease fee of $400 plus GST subject to three yearly reviews.
