From Featherston, Greytown and Martinborough to Pirinoa, our volunteers do the hard yards in June each year to read water meters in all weather across the district.
This year, we’re asking for your help with clearing overgrowth around your water meter, so the volunteers we work with can find water meters with ease. We really appreciate you taking a look at your meter and clearing any overgrowth around it to make the readings a smooth task and help us to manage water use, identify leaks and care for our shared resources.

If volunteers cannot find water meters, it may mean a $40 clearing fee to send someone out to find the meter and take a reading.
Meter readings help identify how much water each property uses, allowing the council to charge for any usage above the annual allowance, while also helping identify leaks or unusual consumption.
