Rapid Relief Team hosts community session for farmers

Following the recent severe weather events that have impacted South Wairarapa, a charitable organisation known as the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) warmly invites local farmers to attend a Farmers Community Connect event in Martinborough on Thursday 13 August from 11am to 1pm.

This event has been created to bring the farming community together, providing an opportunity to connect with neighbours, share experiences and enjoy a positive day out where they can access support services. As part of RRT’s support for flood-affected farmers, those who attend can register their interest in receiving a donation of fencing materials. These will be distributed on a first come, first served basis, at the discretion of RRT, due to limited resources.

The event will also give farmers access to a range of support services on the day, including:

  • Health services
  • Rural financial counselling
  • Veterinary support
  • A free barbecue lunch will be served on the day with barista coffee
