Featherston’s Fox and Birdwood streets road closure extended for upgrading safety until Monday 31 August.

Wet weather across South Wairarapa has resulted in the extension of the road closure on Fox Street and Birdwood streets in Featherston, which is now anticipated to be completed on 31 August.

The work was originally scheduled to be completed by the end of July but adverse weather across the district means the completion date is now Monday 31 August.

South Wairarapa District Council has engaged Higgins Contractors to undertake this work, which includes widening footpaths and installing centre islands to improve safety.

Thank you for your patience while these safety upgrades are taking place.

The street will be open after 5pm and on weekends.
