There will be some facility closures and changes to Council services due to the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday 1 June.
Customer Service Centre
The Council offices and Customer Service Centre at 19 Kitchener Street, Martinborough, will be CLOSED, but you can still contact the Council should you need to – just call 06 306 9611 for assistance. All calls will be diverted to our after-hours service.
Rubbish and recycling collection
Due to the public holiday on Monday, all urban rubbish and recycling collections will take place one day later than usual. Collections will take place:
- Greytown – Wednesday 3 June
- Martinborough – Thursday 4 June
- Featherston – Friday 5 June
Coastal collections will operate as usual on Monday 1 June.

South Wairarapa Libraries
Featherston, Greytown and Martinborough Libraries will be CLOSED for the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday 1 June.
Online services will continue to be available 24/7, with thousands of e-books, e-audiobooks and magazines on Libby, as well as movies and documentaries on Beamafilm available FREE with your South Wairarapa Libraries library card.

Other things to note
Buses will replace trains this King’s Birthday Weekend, with KiwiRail tackling a couple of jobs that are crucial to the Wairarapa Line upgrade. They will be installing ducting at Woodside near Greytown as part of the signalling project, and finishing off the passing loop.
