Thank you for your ongoing patience as we work towards improved water resilience for the Featherston community’s water supply – we are almost there.
Phase two of the Featherston Watermain Renewals work is under way and going well.
On Tuesday 19 May trenching work began on Fitzherbert Street and runs for one more night as shown below. Please note that there will be some noise associated with this work, however steps have been taken to minimise noise disruption as much as possible.
Businesses are aware of this work and have the contractors’ contact details.
Traffic management will be in place by 7pm and trenching works will get under way by 8pm each night. At the end of each night, the road surface will be made usable either by being brought flush to the road level with sand/lime or resurfaced with asphalt. Traffic management will be removed by 6am each morning. It is expected that by the end of the third night on Thursday 21 May that asphalt reinstatement will be completed in all three locations.
Thank you for your patience. The reason why work is being completed over night is to minimise disruption to the commercial area and to get the work completed as efficiently as possible.
