News: What to know if you need to have a Covid-19 test

There are now 20 active cases of Covid-19 in the Wairarapa, five of them new (as of Thursday 16 February).

If you have been tested for Covid-19:

• please go straight home. You will be notified when the result is available, usually between 2–5 days.

• if you are a contact of a current case, check the Ministry of Health’s website for more information: https://www.health.govt.nz/…/contact-tracing-covid-19

If you develop symptoms, stay at home. In some cases, you may be advised to self-isolate from other members of your household.

The isolation period for Covid-19 cases is at least 10 days from your last exposure, including 72 hours symptom-free. Household members will also need to go into isolation but may be released when you are.

Close contacts who are not part of your household have had their isolation time shortened to 7 days, with a clear Day 5 test.

Testing is being done at these locations – http://www.wairarapa.dhb.org.nz/…/cov…/covid-19-testing/
