25/11/2020 Martinborough water outage

Update 9.00pm
Wellington Water has completed the repair and service has been restored. The team is flushing the hydrants and will be working to reinstate the site.
Please run a cold tap to clear any air and cloudy water from the pipes before using hot taps, dishwashers and washing machines.
Thank you for your patience and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. Good night

Update 7.30pm

The tanker is on site and residents are welcome to bring containers down for filling. The tanker is by the church on Weld Street. If you require assistance with this the driver will be more than happy to help you.

The team has exposed the main and discovered a large split in the pipe which caused the burst. They believe they will have service restored by 10pm.

Update 6.30pm

The team will be starting works soon. Traffic management is in place. This work may take up to five hours.

A bulk water tanker will be on site within 1 hour to provide temporary supplies to affected residents (approximately 60 properties).

Some residents outside of the outage area may have experienced low pressure when the main burst but our team advises that this should have returned to normal once the outage area was isolated.

Update 5.42pm

The Wellington Water team is responding to a burst water main at the corner of Jellicoe and Weld Streets in Martinborough. Affected properties are in the area of Jellicoe to Ferry Road, Ferry Road to Roberts Street, Weld Street from Jellicoe to Roberts and also French Street.

It is anticipated that service will be out for approximately 3 hours at this stage.
