Covid-19 Level 2 – Guide to Council services

13May 2020

We’ll be moving to Alert Level 2 at midnight on Wednesday 13 May, this means Council facilities will be reopening.

The essential services to continue as normal are:

  • provision of drinking water
  • wastewater treatment and disposal
  • kerbside rubbish and recycling collectionas scheduled
  • Martinborough Transfer Station – contactless payment encouraged, not compulsory
  • Featherston and Greytown Recycling Centres – contactless payment encouraged, not compulsory
  • animal control
  • essential roading services
  • burials
  • paymentsby internet banking
  • building andresource consents and LIMs – see below
  • mowing of parks, sports fields and berms
  • public toilets – with extra cleaning.

Services to open/resume (following Government Level 2 hygiene, distancing & gathering protocols):

  • Council offices open 10.00am–2.00pm weekdays for drop-ins, e.g. to pay rates and dog regos, drop off submissions, quick queries; otherwise by appointment only
    • Building-related queries that require face-to-face will be by appointment only, during the hours 8am-12noon
    • Resource consent, planning and licensing queries to continue via phone and email for the time-being
  • public parks and sports fields
  • public playgrounds and water fountains – they have been thoroughly cleaned
  • libraries – more information here
  • community halls and venues.
