Cape Palliser Road at Kupes Sail (route position 35.15km) is closed to vehicle access for emergency repair for approximately 2 weeks.  Work is expected to be substantially complete on 27 November 2015 subject to weather conditions over the period.  The location affects vehicle access from Mangatoetoe to the lighthouse.  Pedestrian access will be maintained, with vehicle parking available nearby.

The concrete structure was damaged during a storm event in June 2015.  Access has been limited since then.  Road works are taking place to ensure safety and full access will be achieved prior to the Christmas holiday period and beyond.
