The new Tauherenikau suspension bridge is being temporarily closed to allow some stabilisation work to begin.
The bridge’s official opening was to be in September but this was put on pause while some parts to stabilise the bridge in strong winds were ordered.
These parts have now arrived and the bridge builders will be closing the site so the work can be done safely. Please stay off the bridge, and Council will provide an update once the work is complete.
The Greytown Trails Trust, which has led this project, is hoping to have an official opening in time for summer.
