A Community Conservation Partnership Fund was launched on 30 March by Conservation Minister Hon Dr Nick Smith. The fund is to support community groups and landowners undertaking natural heritage and recreation conservation projects throughout New Zealand.
Applications for the first round of the fund close on 1 May 2014.
The new fund of $26 million over the next four years is to be distributed to community organisations in an annual contestable funding round of between $6 million and $7 million a year. Projects may be funded over multiple years, reflecting the time it takes to complete projects of this sort. The first round of the Fund opened on 31 March and closes on 1 May, with decisions to be announced in June and July. The Community Conservation Partnership Fund replaces the Biodiversity Advice and Condition Fund.

Discussion and Workshop for Potential Applicants

Place: DOC Office, South end of South Rd Masterton.
Potential applicants or those that work with potential applicants, including local authorities, are invited to attend a workshop on Wednesday 9th April, 7pm-8.30pm at the DOC office at the South end of South Rd, Masterton.
DOC staff will provide a brief overview of the fund and be available to answer specific questions about the fund. Staff will then be available to discuss draft applications and provide initial feedback.

We strongly recommend applicants read Section D of the application form which provides information on evaluation of proposals.
