Martinborough Square Submissions Closed
A hearing will be scheduled sometime in early July now that submissions on the newly drafted plans for Martinborough Square have closed. The hearing will be a public meeting, but only those submitters who have stated they wish to be heard can participate. Please note that submissions from both the first and second rounds of consultation will be considered, but the focus is on the rewritten plans.
The Draft Management Plan is a high level document that guides Council’s overall management of the area. The Draft Development Plan gives effect to the Management Plan, including maintenance, plants, lighting, furniture, footpaths and parking.

After the hearing a Council officer will write a report for the full Council to consider at their next meeting. The Council will consider the submissions, the hearing and the officer’s report and will make a decision on the plans. The Management Plan then needs to be approved by the Minister for Conservation as required by the Reserves Act.
