Freya Indigo, a recently elected member of the Featherston Community Board, tendered her community board resignation to Council Chief Executive Harry Wilson on Sunday 26 January 2020. 

An opportunity has arisen for Ms Freya to manage an opportunity shop in Featherston and she has ongoing responsibilities at the local foodbank, so has decided she does not have the time to dedicate to local government matters.

The Featherston by-election currently underway will continue with one of the two people standing elected to the Featherston Community Board to fill the vacancy left by the general election in 2019.  A second process will likely be run following its completion to fill the remaining vacancy.
