Mike Gray from Greytown has today been officially sworn in as a new councillor to SWDC for the Greytown ward.
Councillor Gray fills the vacancy left by the resignation of Councillor Paora Ammunson in December last year.
Council decided to appoint Mr Gray based on his good working knowledge of local government processes, having previously been a South Wairarapa District Councillor and as a current member of the Greytown Community Board and the Greytown Trust Lands Trust.
Mr Gray was also the highest polling unsuccessful candidate in the last triennial election, and has indicated his availability to take up the position.
