The Mayor and Councillors are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Gardner as Interim CEO of South Wairarapa District Council. The decision was made at an extraordinary Council meeting this morning and is as a result of the resignation of the previous CEO.

Paul Gardner is the General Manager Human Resources and Corporate Services and has been with the Council for two years. Originally from the UK, he has been a resident of the South Wairarapa for a little over five years. He has worked across the commercial, public, private, and not-for-profit sectors in New Zealand and in several countries overseas and held governance positions on various not-for-profit organisations.

Mayor Connelly looks forward to working with Paul and expressed his gratitude to him for agreeing to accept the position.

“Until we make a permanent appointment later in the year, we look forward to making a lot of progress because of the leadership skills that Paul brings” he said.
