Are you interested in making decisions on alcohol licensing throughout our region? We are calling for expressions of interest from Wairarapa residents who would like to put themselves forward for the new District Licensing Committees (DLCs).
From 18 December 2013, DLCs will be responsible for issuing all alcohol licences and the three councils are looking to attract members from throughout the wider community who have a wide range of expertise and competencies such as:
- Relevant alcohol licensing experience
- Highly developed decision-making skills
- An understanding of the community, its expectations around alcohol licensing and the issue of alcohol-related harm
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional integrity
All members will be provided with full training and will work together to make quality decisions on granting alcohol licences across the Wairarapa region.
